Jerry "The King" Lawler
Jerry O'Neil Lawler, aka Jerry "the King" Lawler hails from Memphis, Tennessee. Among the accolades for this WWE Hall of Famer are numerous Wrestling Champion titles, including AWA World Heavyweight Champion, WCWA World Heavyweight Champion, and the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion. An early career as a DJ attracted the attention of a wrestling promoter and also led to his later career in commentating. He won his first championship in 1974 and earned the title "The King of Wrestling".
Along with all of his Wrestling appearances on specials and video games, he portrayed himself in the 1999 Jim Carrey film about Andy Kaufman, "Man on the Moon". This fed into his notorious staged feud with Kaufman.
While he may not be sporting his trademark golden crown, blue cape and holding his golden scepter, he will be holding court at our con in July!
